If you’ve been reading books in Apple Books and have been scrolling through the pages but wanted to flip them instead, you can! If you couldn’t find a way to make this happen, it may be because the switch to do this is not in an obvious place, and if you have set up your iPad for larger text sizes in your accessibility settings, the “Scrolling View” button may be hidden on the menu.

Normally you can find it on the drop down menu presented by touching the “appearance” button...the button represented with AA, (capital A next to a lower case A) icon. The menu drops to reveal adjustments for “Font Size”, Font Type”, “Color Themes, “Auto-NightThemes”, and, sometimes hidden, a Scrolling View off/on switch.

If you don’t see the “Scrolling View” switch It is because it is hidden beneath the “Auto-Night-Theme” button, where the menu ends, and there is nothing to indicate that there is anything else below it. You’ll need to hold your finger down and drag up on any blank spot on the menu, to reveal it. Finally, by turning the “Scrolling View” button off, instead of continuously scrolling the pages up and down, you’ll be able to flip the pages one by one, by touching the right or left margin.

Note: If you happen to be using a screen reader the “Scroll View” button will be recognized, so no problem.

Thanks this is helpful. I use Android but use Apple Ipads at my other job. Just learned the magnification features with Zoom and VoiceOver. Any sites with tips on these would be helpful.
