Glitches with Decorative Images

Hello All,

As some of you already know, Daniella is working with a rather long and complex file. She is also kicking ass. Karoline has also been amazing and offered to tackle a couple of chapters as well. Through this I have learned that there is a glitch with replacing the decorative images with JAWS.

First off, when you are dealing with images in your word document they are not formatted correctly. This means that sometimes they sit in the middle of a sentence. When this happens the asterisks appear in the middle of a sentence. The find and replace workaround works in this example, but the asterisks would have to be identified as being in the middle of a sentence and then moved to be after that paragraph. To be clear, this can happen with any time of universal edits which is why PA's often have to do at least one or two scans of the entire document to carefully make sure that everything changed the way we wanted it to be.

Another thing I noted was that they both had some decorative images be removed, but not replaced by asterisks, and in one instance there was double the asterisks, or even a line was created as a break in the document.

Has anyone else had a similar issue? Do you have any suggestions for a way to fix these types of problems?
As Always,

Rachel
